Rocket Dollar offers a product that enables people to purchase non-traditional or alternative investments using their individual retirement accounts. We're giving the people control over their financial futures.
How did you get started?
I previously worked in the self directed retirement space and noticed that the process was outdated, slow, and expensive. I was connected to our current CEO, Henry Yoshida, shortly after and with that connection made Rocket Dollar. We hit the ground running.
What were some of the biggest hurdles you had to overcome? What has been your biggest accomplishment?
Funding was one of the biggest hurdles we initially faced. Pitching, meeting after meeting, running all over the state just to get a "no" can weigh on you. Nevertheless, with perseverance and a strong partner, we eventually made it happen. Building the team we have and getting as far as we have is definitely an accomplishment I can say I'm proud of.
What motivates you each day to do what you do?
I enjoy a challenge. The continuously changing obstacles we face in the fin-tech world provide a unique challenge like no other. It's extremely rewarding when we hit another milestone as a company. So, on the day to day, that's what keeps me going.

1. Know your product inside and out.
2. Build a great team.
3. Always be learning. You cannot stop learning.
